Maryland Social Equity Mentorship Program Video Series Presented by The Marijuana Industry Trade Association (MITA) and Collateral Base

MITA Introduces the “Maryland Social Equity Mentorship Program Video Series,” empowering social equity applicants through comprehensive video education.

Baltimore, MD, — The Marijuana Industry Trade Association (MITA), in collaboration with Collateral Base and the Cannabis Legalization News (CLN), is pleased to announce the launch of an educational video series aimed at empowering social equity applicants in Maryland’s cannabis industry. The series will provide comprehensive guidance and essential knowledge to individuals seeking to qualify and succeed in the state’s social equity licensing process.

As the upcoming cannabis lottery in Maryland approaches, the importance of providing equitable opportunities and necessary resources to historically disadvantaged communities cannot be overstated. With a firm commitment to social equity, MITA and Collateral Base have joined forces to produce a high-quality video editorial series tailored specifically for social equity applicants in Maryland.

The “Maryland Social Equity Mentorship Video Series” will consist of 12 episodes, each running for 30 minutes. The series will cover a wide range of crucial topics, including the parameters of Maryland’s social equity lottery and the qualifying criteria for applicants, such as having resided in specific zip codes for at least five of the last ten years and attending a public school or historically black university in Baltimore or Maryland. Modules on finance, legal matters, compliance, technology, and marketing will also be featured to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

“We are thrilled to bring our successful video educational series to Maryland’s social equity applicants. MITA has previously executed a similar program in Arizona, which helped hundreds of social equity applicants, many of whom went on to secure licenses. By collaborating with Collateral Base and CLN, we aim to replicate this success and ensure that aspiring entrepreneurs have the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the cannabis industry,” said Demitri Downing, founder and CEO of MITA.

Sergio Barraza, a representative from Collateral Base, added, “Through this video series, we hope to bridge the knowledge gap and empower social equity applicants in Maryland. We encourage individuals and organizations with expertise in compliance, real estate, business/finance, marketing, cultivation, licensing, ERP/software technology, and communications strategies/PR to come forward as sponsors or speakers for this important initiative.”
